In 2020, [Acumen Security](https://www.acumensecurity.net/) produced the most FIPS 140-2 certificates. [UL](https://ims.ul.com/fips-140-2) and [atsec](https://www.atsec.com/) are 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The number of FIPS 140-2 certificates issued each year continues to decline since the program peak in 2016.

Security Level 1 certificates account for 60% of the total in 2020.

52% of the certificates are hardware; 43% are software.

[Cisco](https://www.cisco.com/) and [Canonical](https://canonical.com/) achieved the most number of FIPS 140-2 certificates.
